Fantastic '57 Goldtop with a beautiful fingerboard, resembling Brazilian in appearance with hints of red. Very dense grained. Nice lightweight guitar with no chambering or weight relief. Great neck shape. Plays great and very resonant!

Beautiful Faded Tobacco Sunburst Finish over a very nice grained top, weighing in at a lightweight 8.62 pounds. This top has some really cool grain pattern!

Very dark, close grained rosewood fingerboard. Very big sounding guitar with great mid presence. Absolutely great feeling neck that is super comfortable. No problem wrapping my thumb over the neck.

Low neck set angle making for a low bridge height off the body - perfect for great play. Neck is straight with little relief and the guitar plays clean up and down the neck.

The new 2009 changes include an ABR-1 bridge with no retaining wire, coarse knurled switch nut, single-slotted pickguard bracket screw, more correct top carve, '50s wiring, new volume pots with improved taper and rounded neck shoulders. These welcome changes for 2009 make the VOS reissues that much more closer to their vintage original counterparts.

New 2009 Gibson Flying V Custom, Classic White

Awesome new 2009 Flying V Custom, weighing in at an incredibly light 7.48 pounds!

We love these Flying V Customs and feel they are easily the pinnacle of Gibson's V lineup. They are exceedingly rare with new ones coming in only about twice a year now.

The first one we had sold quickly to a local blues player that fell in love with it at first sight; he was floored by its tone and playability. This one is every bit as good as the last one we had and is just a stunningly beautiful example of the ultimate Flying V.

These guitars exude style and are serious tone machines. They ring like a tuning fork and have loads of punch, clarity and sustain. Only removed from box to photograph and play test. Great feeling neck that is about the size of a '58 reissue Les Paul. Tall, polished frets combined with the smooth ebony fingerboard make string bending a breeze.

The dark back is absolutely beautiful and less common than the natural color back. It is a very dark brown but is still translucent - you can see the wood grain through it. It is difficult to photograph, but you will get a good idea from the pictures.

Here is a limited edition, new 2009 Custom Shop Gibson '68 Les Paul Custom VOS (Authentic). These guitars were discontinued as a core model at the end of the 2005 model year, but they continue t be produced in limited runs on occasion; you won't find these listed on Gibson's website.

These always impress me. Slick ebony fingerboard, nice tall frets, ABR-1 bridge, aged nickel hardware, aged VOS ebony finish, neck about the size of a '59 reissue Standard. Non-weight relived, solid mahogany body, long neck tenon, maple cap, Grover tuners.

Beautiful Bourbon Burst Finish over a very nice grained top. The Bourbon Burst finish is similar to Faded Tobacco, but with more red hues around the perimeter of the burst. My personal favorite finish on a plaintop '58! This is one of the less common finish colors Gibson applies, along with Lemon Burst and Sunrise Teaburst. They only make these in small batches on occasion, so here's your chance to grab one before we don't see them again for quite a while.

Weighs 8.98 pounds.

Neck profile is perhaps slightly smaller than average for the '58 Reissue model. It is quite comfortable and easy to navigate for average hand sizes. I can easily wrap my thumb around this neck. Well rounded neck shoulders; they have really improved on the '58 neck profile in 2009.

A great sounding guitar, it is very lively played acoustically and has plenty of punch and clarity plugged in.

New 2009 Gibson Flying V Custom in a beautiful Gunmetal Gray metallic finish. This finish appears as a very dark charcoal gray, almost black. It will appear as black in certain lighting. There is a hint of metallic flake. It is almost impossible to capture the stunning beauty of this finish with a camera - it must be seen to be fully appreciated. I can't emphasize this enough - this is an absolutely drop-dead gorgeous guitar.

Specs: unaged nickel hardware, '57 Classic pickups, Grover tuners, ABR-1 bridge with no-wire (new for 2009), bound body and neck, split-diamond headstock, ebony fingerboard, block inlays, and fast, but not thin neck profile with nice tall frets. Badass guitar.

Every once in a while I come across a truly exceptional piece, and this one is just that. It has by far the most comfortable neck I've put my hand around on a '58; fantastic profile that is not ridiculously clubby like in some prior years, with nice rounded shoulders. The back is gorgeous with real nice stain color (some used to almost have an orange hue, this one is cherry). The top has some mild figuring (flame) and excellent burst transition. And at 8.36 pounds, won't break your back.

You want a hand picked one? You want one that the dealer himself wants to keep? Grab it before I get itchy (well, I do need to pay taxes). Sounds great, plays great, looks great. What's not to like?

Awesome new Gibson Les Paul '68 Custom VOS. This one weighs only 8.96 pounds, making it one of the lightest we've ever seen!

Fantastic playability and tone. The ebony fingerboard combined with nice tall frets, makes for easy bending and vibrato. The '57 Classic pickups compliment this guitar well. It produces full, round and clear tone with great depth and dimension. The neck is a full, rounded profile with rounded shoulders and is very comfortable. It is not quite as large as a '57 Standard reissue.

This is a serious, professional level instrument that the most demanding Les Paul enthusiast will be pleased with. All of these that I have sold have been outstanding examples from the custom shop.

The new 2009 changes include an ABR-1 bridge with no retaining wire, just like the originals had, only better - the saddles don't fall out when the strings are loosened. Other changes include a single-slotted pickguard bracket screw and a coarse knurled switch nut, like the originals had in the late 50s. Other changes include a more correct top carve, '50s wiring, new volume pots with improved taper and rounded neck shoulders. See pics for details.

Features side dot markers on both sides of the neck, just like the originals did in 1958. Also note that on left handed custom shop reissue guitars, the "Les Paul" logo will appear upside down when in the playing position, just like the originals did in the late '50s (this is a period correct detail).

Great new 2008 '58 Reissue in Faded Tobacco Sunburst, weighing in at an incredibly light 8.66 pounds. This is one nice piece of solid mahogany and is not chambered or weight relieved. Great new 2008 '58 Reissue in Faded Tobacco Sunburst. This one has a very nice burst over a great plaintop with some nice grain character. The burst finish transitions well from edge to center.

Fingerboard is pretty dark with some red figuring in it - very cool. Weight is 9.5 pounds, which I find ideal for this model. I found myself playing this one for a good 30 minutes while doing my evaluation - really an excellent sounding and playing instrument.

2005 Gibson Flying V in Natural Finish with Gold Hardware

Fantastic Natural finish 2005 Flying V with Gold Hardware. This is a now discontinued finish; new V's are only available in ebony, cherry and classic white. Most of the natural finished Vs of this era had knobs in a straight line, but this one has the traditional '67 layout, making it a bit of a rarity in this regard.

This has been my personal guitar for some time and it plays remarkably well. I have it set for low action and slight relief. There is no fret wear up and down the neck. Nice straight neck and level frets make for a very nice playing V. The neck on these guitars is to die for - one of my favorite Gibson neck profiles. It is not too thin, but not fat either - it plays very fast.

Lightweight and great to play standing up. Unlimited upper fret access. Absolutely driving amplified sound. The guitar is quite acoustically resonant and has great tone through many tube amps I've run it through. The stock ceramic 496R/500T humbuckers are quite powerful, but articulate at the same time. They respond well to volume roll-off.

The guitar is stock with the exception of RS 500K pots and Russian tone caps. Very, very good sounding V with no issues, no breaks and no repairs.

Cosmetics are easily 9/10 with no significant dings or scratches. Extremely minor buckle mark on the back which may not show in pics. One minor ding in finish on one of the horns. Finish is unchecked and beautiful. Very slight tarnishing on gold parts, typical of gold hardware, but still very minor.

If you want a seriously great V without issues, grab this one - it really is a great guitar!

Comes with original white plush case.

New 2008 Gibson Les Paul '58 Reissue in a Faded Tobacco Sunburst with the rare GLOSS finish (not VOS). The gloss finishes are rare and are offered with unaged hardware and unaged gloss finish, which is a premium upcharge over VOS - it is a more expensive finish to produce.

This is probably the most beautiful faded tobacco '58 I've seen yet. The gloss finish is just the icing on the cake - this guitar is stunning. Nice top grain, fantastic burst with nice gradient transition of colors.The mahogany back on this particular guitar has a very nice grain pattern to it - just beautiful.

Great feeling neck with a nicely colored fingerboard. Neck size is real comfortable and not too large at all - very comfortable to play. Resonant and big sounding guitar. Has a real full tonal spectrum and is loud and dimensional unplugged. Plugged in for testing, this guitar produces classic Les Paul tones. A particularly fine Les Paul reissue. This guitar weighs 9.05 pounds and is quite resonant.

The side dot markers on the neck are some of the best looking tortoise shell markers I've seen yet on any reissue Les Paul, but don't show up well on the photographs.
